What Every Graduate Receives
Everything included in the Southern Brazoria County Homeschool Graduation experience is designed to celebrate your graduate while honoring each family's homeschool journey.
Select your graduation path based on the level of participation you'd like. Below is everything available through our program.
Each graduate receives a professionally designed custom diploma personalized with their homeschool name.
Available options include:
✔ Custom diploma cover
✔ Personalized homeschool name
✔ Optional Bible verse
✔ Optional Texas State Representative signature (eligible graduation paths)
✔ Gold seal for Distinguished Academic Transcript recipients
Please note: SBCHG diplomas are commemorative homeschool diplomas and are not government-issued credentials.
Families participating in the Full Graduation Ceremony receive:
✔ Stage recognition
✔ Name announced during the ceremony
✔ Formal graduation procession
✔ Professional ceremony
✔ Family celebration
✔ Reception following the ceremony
Each participating senior receives:
✔ Graduation cap
✔ Graduation gown
✔ Custom tassel
Graduates are welcome to decorate their caps provided they follow these guidelines:
• No profanity
• No explicit or violent imagery
• No political messages
• No decorations that interfere with the tassel
If a cap is determined to be inappropriate, a replacement cap may be required.
Eligible graduates may receive honor cords recognizing academic achievement and other qualifying accomplishments.
Graduates may also wear approved honor regalia earned through recognized academic, military, or service organizations.

One of the most memorable moments of our graduation ceremony is the Senior Spotlight Video. This personalized presentation celebrates each graduate's journey through homeschool with cherished memories and heartfelt messages from both parents and their senior.
✔ A custom slideshow featuring 15 parent-selected and 5 senior-selected photos (JPEG format)
✔ A 60-second voice message from the parent(s)
✔ A 15-second message from the senior to their parent(s)
Upload your photos to your graduate's SBCHG Google Drive folder, or, if you prefer, provide your own flash drive.
Sign up for a scheduled voice recording session.
We'll create your personalized Senior Spotlight Video to be shown during the graduation ceremony.
After graduation, you'll receive access to your private SBCHG digital folder containing:
Your submitted photos

Event photographs from graduation
Families who choose to provide their own flash drive will have it returned with these files.
Your 60-second parent message often becomes one of the most treasured parts of the ceremony. We encourage families to begin thinking about what they'd like to say well before the recording date.

Each participating family will receive one professionally printed, full-color ceremony program designed as a meaningful keepsake of this special day.
Our custom program features each graduate's photo and biography, celebrating their unique homeschool journey and accomplishments while commemorating the Class of 2027 graduation ceremony.
Each participating family will submit:
✔ A written biography of the graduate
✔ One high-quality senior portrait or photograph of the graduate
The ceremony program becomes a lasting memento for graduates, families, and guests, preserving the memories of this milestone for years to come.
Following the graduation ceremony, families and guests are invited to celebrate together at our reception, where each graduate has the opportunity to showcase their unique homeschool journey.
Every participating graduate may create a personalized display table featuring photos, awards, memories, accomplishments, and other meaningful items that reflect who they are and the path that brought them to graduation.
✔ Please bring your own 36" × 36" card table.
✔ Decorate your table to reflect your graduate's personality, interests, and accomplishments.
✔ Please keep all decorations appropriate and within the table's dimensions to ensure adequate space for every graduate.
Display tables are one of our favorite traditions, giving family and friends an opportunity to learn more about each graduate, celebrate their achievements, and enjoy the unique stories that make every homeschool journey special.
Need ideas? Many families include senior portraits, awards, hobbies, sports, fine arts, mission trips, travel memories, college or career plans, and other special keepsakes that tell their graduate's story.
One of the unique traditions of Southern Brazoria County Homeschool Graduation is presenting each eligible graduate with a personalized Texas State Resolution recognizing their accomplishment.
Ordered by our committee and signed by a Texas State Legislator, this special keepsake celebrates each graduate's hard work while recognizing the importance and freedom of home education in Texas.

The Texas State Resolution is an honorary recognition and does not legitimize a diploma or carry any legal authority. It is a symbolic gesture of congratulations and support from our elected officials and is not a government-issued diploma, transcript, or academic credential.
Your graduate's special day doesn't end when the ceremony is over. Approximately 1–2 weeks after graduation, participating families will receive a digital keepsake collection to help preserve these memories for years to come.

✔ A digital copy of your graduate's custom diploma
Families will receive access to a secure digital folder where they can conveniently download their graduation keepsakes.
Families who prefer may provide their own flash drive instead. If a flash drive is provided, it will be returned after graduation with your submitted photos, Senior Spotlight Video, graduation event photographs, and any other included digital keepsakes.
Our graduation ceremony is a Christ-centered celebration held in a church or event venue. We ask all graduates, families, and guests to dress in Sunday best or wedding guest attire to reflect the significance of this special occasion.
Our hope is to create a timeless and elegant celebration while ensuring everyone feels comfortable and confident throughout the day.
Graduates should wear comfortable, formal attire beneath their cap and gown.
We recommend choosing clothing and shoes that are appropriate for walking across the stage, standing during portions of the ceremony, and participating comfortably throughout the event.
Family members and guests are encouraged to wear Sunday best or wedding guest attire as we gather to celebrate this important milestone.

Please choose attire that is appropriate for a family-friendly, Christ-centered celebration.
We encourage comfortable footwear, as there will be periods of standing and walking.

To help create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone, participating families agree to:
✔ Treat volunteers, graduates, families, and guests with kindness and respect.
✔ Conduct themselves in a manner appropriate for a family-friendly, Christ-centered event.
✔ Follow the directions of the SBCHG Board and event volunteers during all graduation activities.
✔ Help create a positive and encouraging atmosphere for every graduate.
Our graduation ceremony is made possible by the dedication of our volunteer committee and the partnership of participating families. To help everything run smoothly, we ask each family to:
✔ Attend required meetings, rehearsals, and scheduled recording sessions, when applicable.
✔ Submit photos, biographies, forms, and other required materials by the published deadlines.
✔ Regularly monitor email and respond promptly to committee communications.
✔ Notify the committee as soon as possible if questions or scheduling conflicts arise.
